Mr. Twin Sister
Mr. Twin Sister
Twin Sister create the kind of hypnotic pop you've been dreaming about since Galaxie 500 fizzled, cut with Tusk-era Fleetwood Mac thump, and a shot of Lynchian weirdness for good measure. Formed on Long Island in 2008, the band wrote and recorded extensively for two years before their second EP, Color Your Life, began garnering widespread critical acclaim, earning the band writeups in the New York Times, Spin Magazine, Pitchfork, Gorilla vs Bear, and hundreds more.
Signed to Domino Records in late 2010, the band spent that winter writing and recording in an isolated and snow covered beach house in northern Long Island, took the songs to a Philadelphia recording studio, and emerged with their most polished and wide-ranging release yet, 2011's debut LP, In Heaven, another critical favorite. Throughout all this activity, Twin Sister have toured relentlessly, opening for Beirut, Explosions in the Sky, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Wild Beasts, Bear in Heaven, and Real Estate, not to mention numerous headlining shows around the country and in Europe.

School of Seven Bells
School of Seven Bells
Named for the infamous, clandestine, possibly nonexistent South American pickpocket academy, deserter's supergroup School of Seven Bells released was fbormed by ex-Secret Machines guitarist Benjamin Curtis and former On! Air! Library! twin-set Alejandra and Claudia Deheza, as well as James Elliott (who you may or may not know as Ateleia) and sometime Rhys Chatham drummer Joe Stickney. Ghostly International / Vagrant Records.

Moon King
Moon King
24-year old Toronto native Daniel Benjamin and collaborator/co-conspirator Maddy Wilde have been making music together for most of their lives; as Moon King, the two singers weave dreamlike harmonies over buzz-saw guitars and electronic percussion, their live performances capturing a raw-nerve intensity that verges on ecstatic. Obsession I mixes the ethereal charm of the Cocteau Twins with the propulsive rhythms of Disco Inferno. Many of Daniel's songs appeal to our darker subconscious desires, reveling in the embrace of fear and ego as a means of escape.

Moon King's debut 12" Obsession I is released August 14th on One Big Silence, the label run by Mike Haliechuk of Fucked Up, and home to the debut releases by Austra and Diamond Rings. Daniel has also been touring as a member of his brother Airick's project Doldrums. The 12" was self-produced and then mixed in NYC by Shane Stoneback (Sleigh Bells, Cults, Fucked Up).
