Originally from South Wales' coal mining valleys, now NYC resident, Rod Thomas is the man behind Bright Light Bright Light described as "the boy Robyn in all but name" (NME), championed by Billboard, Time Out and many of his heroes including: Sir Elton John (who sings on 4 of his songs, and took him on tour for a year), Erasure (who just took him on a 29 date UK/European tour), Scissor Sisters (who all sing on 'Choreography') and Alan Cumming (who sings on 'Choreography and hosts Rod's Tea Dance party at his club 'Club Cumming' in NYC).

Recent album 'Choreography' took him into the UK and US charts, becoming his most successful album to date. Inspired by the dance sequences in 80s and 90s classic movies like Romy & Michele's High School Reunion, Mannequin and Murderock, it's an upbeat pop record that has won the hearts of critics and fans alike. 'Running Back To You' and 'All In The Name' (both featuring Sir Elton John) were picked by Billboard and UK's Official Charts in the US and UK respectively as modern-day LGBT+ anthems.

Ridiculous, fun, colourful and with a touch of drama, Rod's live shows have been rapturously received over the last two album campaigns. A true independent artist, he became the first ever "unsigned" artist to play on Graham Norton's BBC One TV show, and continues to go from strength to strength with his unique brand of synth pop. 'Choreography' and its sister EPs 'Cinematography 1, 2 & 3' where he covers classic songs from the movies that inspired the records, are all available now.
